Here's a simple ritual and spell for your Full Moon ritual to release the past and start fresh. Use this ritual to let go of old patterns, regrets, and burdens, and create space for positive transformation. Get ready to welcome the liberating energy of the Full Moon and say farewell to the past while embracing a brighter, more hopeful future.
Ingredients:
A white candle (or whatever color you have)
A small piece of paper and a pen
A fireproof bowl or container
Fireproof Tongs or something to hold the paper while it burns
Crystal (optional)
Instructions:
Find a quiet and sacred space where you can perform the ritual undisturbed. Place the candle in a candle holder or in a fireproof container. Secure the candle with a pile of sand or salt. Place it in front of you and light the candle.
Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and connect with the energy of the Full Moon. Allow yourself to be present in the moment.
On the piece of paper, write down anything from the past that you wish to release. It could be old patterns, regrets, grudges, or anything that no longer serves your highest good. Observe your emotions, but let them pass without judgment or getting tangled up in the emotions.
Hold the paper between your hands and repeat the following affirmation three times:
"I release the past with love and acceptance.
The past releases me. I am free.
So say I, so mote it be."
Fold the paper and hold it over the candle flame using the thongs, allowing it to catch fire. As it burns, visualize the past dissolving away, leaving you feeling lighter and unburdened. (If you plan to burn your list, do this outdoors in a safe area. Always practice fire safety!) Alternatively, you can tear the paper up into very small pieces.
Safely place the burning paper in the fireproof bowl or container and watch it burn completely. As it turns to ashes, affirm that the past no longer holds power over you.
Take a moment to reflect on the feelings of freedom and renewal that come with releasing the past.
Express your gratitude to the Moon and any deities or guides you work with. Close the ritual with words of thanks and release. Bury the ashes in your garden, allowing the plants to recycle the old energy into new life.
